The CCGS Chignecto Bay is a search and rescue vessel built for the Canadian Coast Guard and delivered to the Bay of Fundy, between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, in May 2022. Its mission is to tow and rescue vessels in distress and bring shipwrecked crews back to shore. It is very powerful and was designed to handle even the roughest seas.
A new mast to mark the end of the project
The last in a series of six boats ordered by the Canadian Coast Guard, the CCGS Chignecto Bay had the honour of receiving a different mast than her fellow vessels, one with a new design that makes it even more efficient on the high seas.
She was completed one year after the delivery of the CCGS Hare Bay.
